Rob – Age 48

Why did you decide start personal training and wellness coaching?

I got to the heaviest I’d ever been. My cholesterol was a bit on the high side as well.

What goals did you have when you first met Chris?

Lose weight and gain a bit of fitness

Did you have any injuries or special concerns that you needed Chris to be able to work around or improve?

Some knee pain but stretching in Reform classes sorted that out.

What changes or achievements do you feel you’ve made to your fitness and well-being to date?

I’m the fittest I’ve been in 20 years. I’m now 11-12kgs lighter and training for my 2nd half marathon

How do you feel now, compared to before you started your program?

Physically and mentally exponentially better. Mentally I’m far more relaxed than I was 6 months ago.

What sort of training have you been doing?

Running – surprised at how much I’m enjoying it.

How many sessions do you do each week?

I do up to 3 sessions with Chris and the CLS group and 1 session myself on the weekend

How do you find the nutritional program and guidance?

The program was easy to follow. I don’t recall ever feeling hungry and was surprised at the amount I could eat.

What line has Chris used during training that made you chuckle or roll your eyes?

I’m still no gazelle in Reform class but was particularly unbalanced when I first started. I suggested to Chris I work on improving my technique. He agreed whole-heartedly as watching me “hurt his eyes”

What are your favourite words of wisdom from Chris that have really struck a chord for you?

Sustainability. Six months on, it’s now become a way of life; not something I feel I have to do to maintain a healthier life.

How has Chris and/or the CLS community helped or supported you with achieving your goals?

Just being a group of genuine, diverse and supportive group of people. Chris and the CLS group are one of my main motivators for getting to sessions 3 times a week.

What part of your training program do you enjoy most?

Feeling of well-being after a class. The morning sessions are a great kick start and great way to set up your day.

What part of your training program do you enjoy least?

Power days!!

Would you recommend Chris to your friends and family? Have you recommended Chris to your friends and family?

I would and have recommended Chris and CLS to friends. My results have sparked a few people’s interest.

What’s your next health and fitness goal and how are you planning to achieve it?

Running my next half marathon under 2 hours. I’m stepping up the intensity of the training I’m doing.

How has your life changed since you started your program? How do you feel?

Physical and mentally on top of the world.  Physically feeling more comfortable with the weight off. Mentally – more relaxed and sleeping better.


Any other experiences, thoughts or background you’d like to share?

I’m surprised at how I’ve eased into a better well-being. I’ve said to Chris on a number of occasions – it’s the first time in my life I’ve regularly attended a gym so he must be doing something right.
