When did start personal training and wellness coaching?
What were your goals?
When I met Chris I was primarily swimming, riding and running. I wanted to become more balanced in my exercise program, to do some different training and to reduce my incidence of injury.
Did you have any injuries or special concerns that you needed to be able to work around or improve?
My main injury was plantar fasciitis. I had it for some time and had stopped running on land because of the pain it was causing me. I also had an anterior ligament problem in the same foot.
What changes do you feel that you’ve made?
I feel that I have changed the way I see exercise since meeting Chris. I have started doing yoga regularly and view this as a means to improve my mental well being, be more energised and more balanced. Further, I have improved my body’s well being through weight training and being more aware generally during training. My core strength has improved significantly.
How do you feel now, compared to before you started your program?
I feel significantly happier with my physical fitness and overall well being.
What sort of training have you been doing with Chris?
I have been running (as a result of my injury now being manageable), yoga, weight training, bike riding and swimming. I stretch several times each day, and find this to be a pleasant feeling rather than an obligation.
How many sessions do you do each week?
I do up to three sessions each week with Chris, but train or exercise at least once each day. With the introduction of yoga I have more energy than I previously had with less training.
Do you train on your own sometimes? Or do you only do the sessions with Chris?
I train on my own, but Chris is aware of all that I do in relation to exercise and training. He takes an interest in my training to ensure a balanced approach.
How do you find the nutritional program and guidance?
It is beneficial also. It enables me to feel that I am doing everything I can in order to improve my health.

What line has Chris used during training that made you chuckle or roll your eyes a little?
Stop thinking – when you are training you are paying me to think for you.
What are your favourite words of wisdom from Chris that have really struck a chord for you?
That wellness is about balance. It is about knowing what your body needs and listening to it. That exercise does not have to be about punishing yourself, but finding what you love and embracing being healthy. In order to do this a person has to be aware of their fitness and their overall well being.
How has Chris helped or supported you with achieving your goals?
Chris constantly asks about my goals and intentions in the training. This is essential in order to help me with my training program as short term goals assist with my long term life plan.
What part of your training program do you enjoy most?
I enjoy how yoga makes me more aware of my body and its needs. I also enjoy the challenges that are presented whenever I train with Chris.

How did you find out about Chris?
He introduced himself to me in the gym when he guessed that I had an injury I was trying to recover from.
Have you or would you recommend Chris to your friends and family?
I have recommended Chris to all the people that I know that have an interest in well being and fitness. I think he is a brilliant trainer.
What’s your next health and fitness goal and how are you planning to achieve it?
I want to achieve more balance in my life. I want to be a more patient parent and teacher. I want my health to improve and all my injuries to be manageable. I will achieve this through continuing to train with Chris using weights and stretching, yoga, running and riding – and also by being aware of what I need each day.
How has your life changed since you started your program? How do you feel?
My view of training and exercise has changed dramatically. I feel more energised instead of constantly being tired. I feel younger, happier and more capable of facing significant challenges.
Any other experiences, thoughts or background you’d like to share?
Chris has been brilliant through a number of challenges I have faced over the course of the last several months. I believe that training with him as made those challenges significantly easier to overcome.
